Short Welcome Speech
for Chief Guest in Seminar 300 Words in English
Introduction Speech for Chief Guest:
Good evening everyone. I extend a warm welcome to all at the 50th annual
function of our school. I find immense pleasure in introducing our honorable
chief guest Mr. Rajat Venkat, who had been working as a social worker, had
himself served as a teacher for more than 20 years and is running a private zoo
of his own where he, along with his wife, takes care of several domestic and
wild animals.
We are really thankful to him for taking
the time out of his busy schedule to attend the function. He is also an alumnus
of the school. That is one of the main reasons why he cancelled all his work
and was really ecstatic to be here. His love for kids was another. An
inspiration to many, Mr. Venkat also runs an old age home and is always ready
to render a helping hand to the poor and the needy.
The presence of such a personality in a
school annual function is a blessing. We hope that the students are able to
seek a little guidance and imbibe something from his thoughts.
I request Sir to come and light the lamp
and enlighten the audience with his precious words as we begin with the event.
Long Welcome Speech
for Chief Guest 600 Words in English
Chief Guest Introduction Speech, Good
evening everyone and a warm welcome to all of you at the 50th annual function
of our school. As we look back 50 years ago, we see ourselves as a very small
organization set up in a very small area, with around 20 students only.
Gradually we started the primary sections, high school and now we are a college
with around 8000 students and 70 teachers.
St. Peter’s is one of the renowned
institutions in the city. The saplings planted years back have borne fruits.
Many of the students who studied here are doctors, engineers, researchers,
teachers, writers, IAS, and so on, and one such alumnus is present among us.
I feel extremely honoured to introduce
the chief guest tonight, Mr. Rajat Venkat, who is a renowned social worker, an
animal lover, a teacher, and an ex-student of our school. It is such a
privilege to have him on the stage as the chief guest.
Sir had been running a private zoo where
he takes care of the sick and stray animals and allows no visitors in the
space. He is always in the front when it comes to helping the poor and the
needy. He is an inspiration to many. Mr. Venkat is also an amazing writer. Many
of his poems on social reforms and social problems had won him fame.
He is an amazing person, a loving father,
a caring husband, and an adorable son. People like him are hard to find. He is
the face of our school. Every student should try and inculcate some of the
values he owns. We are proud to have an alumnus like him who is doing something
in favour of the society. Such a selfless service is hard to witness.
Every student has his own talent,
qualities and interests. It is not necessary to be a topper in academics but to
excel in whatever you do. Not everyone can be a doctor or an engineer, some are
dancers, singers, travellers, and chefs. There are ‘n’ number of professions in
today’s world. It is just that you need to choose the area of your interest and
not what others compel you to do. This is what Mr. Venkat did. His love for
kids and academics made him an amazing teacher, his love for animals made him
their saviour and his love for humanity helped him reform the society. One
should always do what he wants to and not what he is forced to. This is the
mantra of a successful person.
We are very grateful to Mr. Rajat Venkat for accepting our invitation and marking his presence here. I now invite him to light the lamp and enlighten the audience with his words before we proceed with the event.
